Your garage door works harder than half your tradie mates
It opens in the morning. Closes at night. Gets used by the kids, the dog, the neighbour borrowing your mower... and it never complains.

Like any hard-working machine, your garage door needs a proper service to keep things moving safely, smoothly and quietly. (Not just a squirt of WD-40 and a prayer.)
Why servicing your door actually matters
Your door might look fine now but trouble doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers in the form of:
- Rattles, squeaks or groans,
- Cables that start fraying,
- Hinges sticking like cheap zippers,
- A garage motor that sounds like it’s on its last leg.
Ignore it too long and you’re looking at…
- Big repair bills,
- Burnt-out motors,
- Snapped springs,
- Or a door that suddenly decides to give up at 7:42am on a school day.
Regular servicing catches the little stuff before it turns into oh-no-what-now stuff.
What actually happens in a service?
It’s not just “yeah mate, looks good” and off we go. A proper Garage Hub service includes:
- Checking every moving part for wear and tear,
- Tightening bolts, brackets, hinges and anything else that wiggles,
- Cleaning the tracks so the door slides like butter,
- Adjusting spring tension so your motor isn’t doing all the heavy lifting,
- Lubricating all the important bits - springs, hinges, cables and wheels. With the right spray in the right spots (not just a random misting of hope).
You’ll notice the difference, quieter, smoother and just way less annoying.
How often should I get it serviced?
Most doors are sweet with a once-a-year tune-up.
But if your garage sees more action than the Bunnings sausage sizzle - big family, rental property or you’re a tradie in and out all day. Every 6 to 9 months is smarter.
And if you live by the coast? Salt air is brutal on metal. Better to catch the rust before it catches you.
